2010 Brings Hike in Speeding Fines | Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation Lawyer | State of Georgia

Date: January 1, 2010
Location: State of Georgia
Event: Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation Lawyer
Title: 2010 Brings Hike in Speeding Fines

Driving over the speed limit is about to get a little more expensive for those who have a lead foot. According to Bob Dallas the Director of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, speeding increases the likelihood of a more severe injury or even death in an auto accident. This is a lifesaving law.

Once a speeder incurs the initial citation he or she may not be aware of what is to come. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, after the initial local fine is paid a separate fine will be mailed by the state to the speeder and will notify him or her of the $200.00 charge giving them 90 days to pay.

The additional fine fee will begin at 75 miles per hour on a two lane road and includes the Interstates as well. State leaders are trying to make sure to get the word out to all Georgians to slow down or pay up.

Murphy & Associates handles auto accidents in surrounding areas of Georgia. If you have questions with regards to negligence, please contact our firm at (770) 577-3020. We offer of a free consultation with no obligation.
