23 Injured in School Bus Accident in Gwinnett County

Outcome: 22 Students and 1 Bus Driver Injured

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, twenty three people were injured in a bus accident involving two Gwinnett County school buses. Students from Benefield Elementary were on the bus at the time of the accident. The bus accident happened near the intersection of Cruse and Old Norcross Roads in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The driver of the bus rear-ended the bus in front of her. She was cited for following too closely. Three students and a bus driver were transported to the hospital for minor injuries sustained in the accident. Nineteen other students received medical treatment at the scene of the accident.
