Testimonials

  • I don’t have any medical bills, I’m receiving revenue for my pain and suffering, and I’m very appreciative. I am truly satisfied with the results of my case.
  • "The best part about having James Murphy as my workers' compensationlawyer is that I have someone to speak for me..."
  • The initial phone call made me feel as though they really cared. They made us feel like a number, and Murphy & Associates didn't. My wife and I have never gone through something like this before and accidents can be devastating to a family because of loss of income, pain and suffering.
  • Murphy & Associates made my experience fast and easy, and got the job done.
  • Murphy & Associates Car Accident Law firm is professional, efficient, and a pleasant experience doing business with.
  • I was involved in a rear-end collision while stopped at a red light. Mr. Murphy and his staff guided me through this long process from obtaining medical treatment to settling with the other party's insurance company.

2-Year-Old Tragic Car Accident Survivor Returns Home From Atlanta to Widowed Dad

Severely injured in a Georgia car accident on April 29, 2008, two-year-old Takota Ellington shocked doctors when she returned home from the hospital July 16. Also involved in the head-on collision were Takota’s mom, Joy, who died shortly after the incident while undergoing surgery, and brother, Dawson, who suffered from a broken wrist, fractured neck, and head injuries in the crash. Though Dawson returned home from the hospital May 2 in good condition, little Takota remained in critical condition at Atlanta’s Egleston Hospital for months. In the accident, she sustained severe head injuries, neck and pelvic fractures, and multiple facial and skull fractures. Doctors warned family that she would not survive even as long as two hours, then changed their prediction to twenty-four hours, and so on. Miraculously, Takota showed her fighting spirit and moved toward recovery.

Her road to recovery has already involved many procedures, including plastic surgery on her face, the fusing of her neck, and the insertion of a feeding tube and permanent shunt. After completing treatment at Egleston, she then received care at Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta.  Even as she continues to heal at home, little Takota will participate in physical, speech, and occupational therapy three times a week.

Upon returning home to her father Shawn, the two-year-old smiled as brightly as Shawn did. Despite the tragedy their family has faced, the joy of Takota’s homecoming brightened everyone’s day as family gathered in celebration.
