A 911 dispatcher for the Gainesville/ Hall area overheard an accident Monday morning, October 13, while on the phone with a driver whose accelerator was stuck. According to Ken Stanford of the Access North Georgia website, Gainesville Police reported that the car with the stuck accelerator was headed north on Limestone Parkway when it slammed into a pickup truck on Cleveland Highway. Lt. Gary Entrekin said that a passenger in the car called 911 prior to the accident to report that the accelerator was stuck, and the dispatcher heard the sounds of the wreck as it took place around 9:30a.m. Traffic was stalled for two hours after the accident on Cleveland Highway just north of Gainesville. Two people from the car and the driver of the truck were all taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash.
