A Great Resource: Kids & Cars

Although the world wide web is filled with resources regarding car accidents, even car accidents involving children, it can be difficult to narrow down the results when "Google"-ing search terms such as "kids and car accidents," "fatal accidents involving children," "how to protect children from injury in a car accident," etc.  One place to start is the Kids and Cars website, which provides links to the latest studies about accidents involving children, such as backover and frontover accident statistics and information by state regarding child injuries from auto accidents.  Although a recent report by the Governor's Highway Safety Administration (GHSA) states that fatal accidents declined in 40 states, including Georgia, in the year 2008, the Kids & Cars website reveals that Georgia is still among the top four states for the most non-traffic, vehicle-related fatalities to children under the age of 15.  While the site's statistics are cause for concern, the education provided by Kids & Cars serves as a necessary step towards decreasing these numbers.  Among other resources on the site are links, news reports, and information about relevant technology and legislation.

Kids & Cars states its mission is "to assure no child dies or is injured in a non-traffic, motor vehicle related event."  We agree that one fatality is one too many, and we hope that new efforts towards child safety and traffic safety will help accomplish that task.  In reality, however, many children have died from non-traffic accidents, as well as traffic accidents involving multiple vehicles.  If your child has been injured or killed in an accident, we express our deepest sympathies to you.  We will answer all of your questions for free with compassion and professionalism if you need our advice or assistance.  770-577-3020.
