Additional acreage purchased for Mason Creek Elementray and Middle School location.

February 26, 2008 - The Douglas County Board of Education announced yesterday that they are purchasing additional acreage on Johnston Road to give better access to the Mason Creek Elementary School, and Middle School which are currently under construction. This location is very close to the Post Road exit on Interstate 20 in Winston. Once the schools are opened, tremendous traffic will develop at the Post Road exit. The Mason Creek Road and Post Road intersection is already very busy and is without a traffic light, and it is the site of many car accidents in Douglas County. In anticipation of the opening of these schools, a traffic light and additional road development will have to be done to alleviate the eventual increasing traffic flow.
