Aiken Resident Killed in Richmond County I-20 Accident, Alcohol Suspected to be a Factor

Aiken resident Jessie Aaron Petoskey, 29, died after an Interstate 20 accident in Richmond County on Friday, October 31, according to Adam Folk of the Augusta Chronicle online. Richmond County Sheriff’s Maj. Richord Weaver reports that Petoskey was ejected from his vehicle after it collided with the guard rail and overturned multiple times on the Savannah River bridge just after 1:00 a.m. Passengers Hannah Goodwin and Derek Brower, ages 19 and 22, respectively, required treatment for injuries at the Medical College of Georgia. According to Weaver and chief deputy coroner Mark Bowen, alcohol may have contributed to the cause of the crash.
