A Thursday evening car accident killed a 34-year-old man from Laurens County, Georgia, when his vehicle crashed into a power pole, according to Amy Leigh Womack of the Macon.com website.  The Georgia State Patrol reports that the single car accident occurred when Jermaine Tyrone Wright of Rentz, Georgia, lost control of his vehicle while traveling west on Bates Avenue in Rentz around 10:15 p.m., January 1.  Wright's car then hit the power pole, and he was killed as a result of the wreck.  According to troopers, alcohol was involved in the Laurens County car accident.
