Byron Resident Killed in Evening Car Accident
A woman from Byron, Georgia, was killed in a car accident around 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, December 1, on Georgia 49 in Byron, according to Liz Fabian of the Macon.com website. Jessica Burwell, 35, was traveling on GA 49 west of I-75 when she swerved to avoid an accident with another car and her vehicle traveled into the path of an International Harvester truck heading in the opposite direction, according to Georgia State Patrol communications officer Chuck Altman. The truck driver, Macon resident James Walker, 57, sustained minor injuries in the crash, and Burwell was pronounced dead on the scene.
