Car Accident Resulting in Power Outage in Union City, Georgia

Early Sunday, February 7, 2010, a car accident occurred in Union City, Georgia leaving more than 900 houses without power, according to the Union City Police Department. A vehicle was traveling along Highpoint Road when it crashed into a power pole near Wellington Drive. The power pole was snapped in half as a result of the accident.

The Union City Police Department states that speed and alcohol were not a factor in the accident. The auto accident is still under investigation by the police department.
