Carjacking at Publix on Chapel Hill Road.

March 11, 2008 - Two teenage suspects were arrested shortly after a carjacking on Friday evening, March 9th. The carjacking took place at the Publix Shopping Center on Chapel Hill Road in Douglasville. Two men hitched a ride with a man to the Publix Shopping Center around 8 p.m. When the man arrived at Publix, one of the suspects pulled a gun and demanded the driver’s money. While the driver was fighting with the gunman, the other suspect began hitting the driver with his fists. The driver escaped and ran toward Publix, and the suspects took the victim’s truck.

The teens were denied bonds on Monday in Magistrate Court and face multiple charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery, aggravated assault through striking a police vehicle, obstruction of law enforcement officer, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Both of the suspects remain in the Douglas County Jail.
