A Douglas County judge recently ordered the owner of a pit bull to pay damages in the amount of $700,000.00. The attack on the minor has the left the child with permanent disfigurement and emotionally scarred. According to reports the child has undergone several reconstructive surgeries and faces further surgical intervention in the future. The child was attacked in July of 2009 causing multiple injuries after being knocked down and bit on the face by the pit bull. It was reported that the owner of the dog had been cited multiple times for leash law violations and had attacked another individual as well.
