The NTSB reported recently that a confusing highway exit sign was a primary cause for the tragic Atlanta bus accident in 2007 that killed five members of the Bluffton University baseball team from Ohio. According to officials, the driver thought he was going to remain in a car-pool lane but instead went over an overpass after driving over an exit ramp. As a result, Georgia transportation officials have announced plans to replace the sign that contributed to the fatal accident. In addition, the Georgia DOT plans to replace all car-pool lane signs on interstates in metro Atlanta by March of 2010.
