According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, DeKalb County receives a $66,300 grant which will help DeKalb County Police hunt drunk drivers. The state announced that DeKalb is one of 21 Georgia law enforcement agencies to receive a Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (H.E.A.T). The H.E.A.T. will help to combat drunk drivers and speeders, also promoting seatbelt use.

The DeKalb County Police Chief, stated the money will be used to provide high traffic enforcement in target areas in the county. Police departments in Atlanta, Clayton and Henry counties also received grants.
