Douglas County Road and School Updates | Accident Attorney Douglasville

The roadways in Douglas County are very dangerous due to the icy conditions. Some ice melted on Tuesday but will re-freeze again overnight when the temperatures drop to 19 degrees. Please take caution on roadways and be aware of black ice.

I-20 eastbound is shut down between Fairburn Road and Thornton Road. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is in the process of sanding and salting the roadway in hope to reopen the interstate tonight. I-20 and I-285 interchange is open now. I-20 at Fulton Industrial Boulevard is halfway open.

The Douglas County Courthouse will be open today, January 12, 2011, from 11:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Commissioners' Work Session has been rescheduled for Friday, January 14, 2011, at 10:00 a.m.

All court cases in the Douglas County State Court have been cancelled for today. The Douglas County Schools are also closed today due to the weather. Twelve-month employees are to report at 10:00 a.m. West Georgia Technical College is also closed today.
