After 6 long years and 5 excruciating surgeries that included two knee replacements, a Douglasville resident finally received a favorable verdict from Fulton County State Court.

The resident was working for the local security system installation firm, Vratsinas. He was injured at work after he fell off a ladder and filed suit because his company denied him use of a scissor lift while doing ceiling work at IKEA. The lift would have provided better protection for the injured worker. The company, however, feared that the scissor lift would cause lighting grate damage, and opted to use the ladder instead.

Even with multiple surgeries and several years of recovery, the Douglasville man still walks with a cane, and struggles with mobility. He hopes to use his settlement to cover the exorbitant medical bills and loss of salary which resulted from the accident.
