
A DUI accident in North Augusta, South Carolina, resulted in the woman driver turning herself in to authorities, according to the WJBF News Channel 6 website based in Georgia. The site reports that 45-year-old Julie Pfinnig Lafon has been accused of driving the wrong way on Interstate 20 (I-20) while intoxicated on January 31, 2009. Booked and released on a $30,000 bond, Lafon was charged with two DUI counts following the crash, which injured two people when she struck an oncoming vehicle. According to The Aiken Standard, one of the injured is still in the hospital and in critical condition.
