According to Channel 2 Action News, an employee at Newell Recycling Center in East Point was killed. Firefighters responded after a piece of equipment caught fire. Upon putting out the fire they discovered the deceased several feet away in an area near crushed cars.

At present the Fulton County Medical Examiner is performing an autopsy to identify the employee and determine an actual cause of death. Investigation is continuing as to the cause of the fire.
