Fatal Accident on Lovvorn Road Near Carrollton Kills 2 Metro Atlanta Residents

Last Wednesday (July 9) saw tragedy when a Carrollton resident traveling west on Lovvorn Road hit another Carrollton driver head-on around 11:00 in the morning. According to witnesses Mildred Bearden, 71, leaned over to pick up an item in her 2004 Honda Odyssey, causing her to steer her vehicle across the double yellow line into oncoming traffic. She then crashed into a 1983 Cadillac DeVille, which flipped over and rested on its top. Just three minutes after the collision, emergency personnel arrived and found that the driver of the DeVille, Jerry Warren, 44, was dead. His fifteen-year-old daughter and passenger, Sherry Warren, was conscious but was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center where she was in critical but stable condition as of Thursday, July 10.

Mildred Bearden was also airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center, but died around 2:30pm the following day. No alcohol or drugs appear to have been involved, but Ms. Bearden may not have been wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
