According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, a Valdosta resident, was charged with vehicular homicide that killed a nineteen year old Suwanee resident. The accident happened near Lawrenceville, Georgia.
The Valdosta resident was traveling southbound on Lawrenceville Suwanee Road when his vehicle served between lanes and eventually became airborne as it crossed into oncoming traffic and landed on the nineteen year old’s vehicle. The Valdosta resident continued traveling southbound after the accident and struck a utility pole.
The Gwinnett County Police Department charged the Valdosta resident with reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and vehicular homicide. This fatal accident remains under investigation and more charges can be filed.

According to the AJC, Aimee Michael was found guilty of causing the auto accident on April 12, 2009 on Camp Creep Parkway and then fleeing the scene of the accident and trying to cover it up. According to the Gwinnett County Police, on Saturday June 26, 2010 at approximately 6:25 pm a single car accident occurred on Hamilton Mill Parkway. The teen driver of the vehicle received minor injuries in the accident however one of his passenger received serious injuries and yet another was killed after being ejected from the vehicle upon impact. The injured passengers were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center. According to police spokesman investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the collision. Vehicular homicide, serious injury by motor vehicle and reckless driving charges will likely be pending against the teen driver.

On Monday June 21, 2010 a Douglasville woman was killed when a deer was struck by a car and thrown into her windshield. According to Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 5 in Douglas County at about 3:15 pm. The car which initially struck the animal and threw it into the windshield was occupied by an adult female and a minor child both of whom received treatment for minor injuries at the scene. The Douglas County Coroner recalled being called to a similar scene over ten years ago in which a mother and daughter were both killed.
The National Highway traffic Safety Administration state that there are about 150 fatalities a year and more than 10,000 injuries due to deer. Georgia is ranked 5th in the county for auto - deer collisions.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, a 27 year old male, was hit by a vehicle on Highway 166 west near Interstate 285 on May 31, 2010. The victim of the accident was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he passed away from injuries sustained in the auto accident.
The Atlanta Police Department are looking for a 2006 or earlier Nissan Titan, Armada, or Infinity QX56 in connection with the hit and run accident. The driver of the vehicle did not stop.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, four people were killed and more than 600 injured in auto accidents this Memorial Holiday weekend, which is a record low for fatalities in Georgia.
More specifically, there were 2,547 car accidents with 637 injuries and four fatalities on the roadways. The Georgia state officials predicted 15 fatalities and 696 injuries resulting from 1,972 auto accidents.
Last year in 2009, there were 2,430 accidents resulting in 1,126 injuries and 16 fatalities. Georgia State Officials said this year’s four fatalities marked a record low for Memorial Day. The previous annual lows were in 1979 and 2007 which had fewer than the 10 fatalities.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, three people were involved in a car accident on the downtown connector in Atlanta, Georgia yesterday. The auto accident occurred in the southbound lanes near the 14th Street exit. The Atlanta Police state it appears a driver of a Jeep Patriot hit the back of a dump truck and the dump truck traveled in the second to right lane when it was rear-ended. The dump truck was part of a construction crew working to repave the downtown connector.
The driver of the Jeep Patriot passed away from the injuries sustained in the accident. The two passengers in the vehicle were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. The driver of the dump truck received no injuries.

On Wednesday, March 17, 2010, warrants were issued to the wrong-way driver that was involved in a fatal auto accident last weekend that killed a U.S. Marine on Interstate 20, according to the Cobb County Police Department. Bruce Joseph Quayle, 71 years of age, has been charged with homicide by vehicle, serious injury by vehicle, DUI, reckless driving and driving on the wrong side of the road. Mr. Quayle who is still receiving medical care at Grady Memorial Hospital has not yet been served with the warrants, according to the police department. The issue of the warrants is still pending on his release from the hospital.
According to the Cobb County Police Department, Ms. Suedmeyer is still present at Atlanta Medical Center which she is in critical but stable condition.

Title: Wrong-way Driver Causes Fatal Accident on Interstate 20
On Saturday, March 13, 2010, a fatal accident occurred on Interstate 20 near Six Flags drive as a result of a wrong-way driver. According to the Cobb County Police Department, Bruce Joseph Quayle, 71 years of age, resident of Villa Rica, Georgia, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 20 in the westbound lanes when he struck Lance Cpl. Gregory M. Suedmeyer, 21 years of age, U.S. Marine head-on. Mr. Suedmeyer’s wife was also in the vehicle, Katelyn Suedmeyer, 19 years of age, was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center and remains in critical but stable condition.
Mr. Lance Cpl. Gregory M. Suedmeyer was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and passed away from the injuries sustained in the accident. Mr. Bruce Joseph Quayle remains in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
The Cobb County Police Department is still investigating this fatal car accident. The Douglas County 911 reported receiving many phone calls about a wrong-way driver on Interstate 20 at the time of this accident. The Cobb County Police Department expects to file charges against Mr. Quayle.
