A fatal accident near Albany, Georgia, occurred early Friday morning (September 5, 2008) in Miller County when two young men collided with a stopped freight train.. According to Christian Jennings of WALB News, the train was stopped at a crossing in Colquitt around 1:30 a.m. when the truck in which the two men were riding slammed into the train, creating fire.
Cousins Henry Cook III, 32, and Geary Cooper, 25, died as a result of the crash. Since the crossing arms were down and working properly, investigators are still trying to determine how the accident occurred. The Georgia State Patrol is handling the investigation.
