
One person was killed Friday morning, October 10, on Interstate 75 north of Atlanta, but the Georgia State Patrol could not confirm the person's age. This tragedy occured at about 8:00 a.m. at mile marker 291. The accident shut down the interstate while the police investigated. According to the Georgia State Patrol, the vehicle went off the road, flipped and struck a tree before catching on fire, reports the Cartersville Daily Tribune.
The female driver of the vehicle from Michigan was transported to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she was treated at Erlanger Hospital. Investigators worked for hours after the accident to determine what happened and the number of people in the car. I-75 was completely reopened by 9:45 a.m. Friday morning.
