Four
Alabama high school students were killed and one injured in a
fatal car accident Wednesday afternoon, according to the WZTV Fox 17 website. The site reports that the accident took place when the car in which the five girls were traveling left the roadway and crashed into a tree near
Talladega High School around 3:30 p.m, nearly snapping the car in half. According to Toraine Norris of the Al.com website,
Talladega Fire Department Capt. Ronnie Davis said that the
fatal accident occurred on Avenue H near Cromer Avenue. Three of the girls killed were nineteen: Marquesha Cook, Kiara Chatman, and Kiara's cousin Jasmine Chatman. Eighteen-year-old Areshious Wright also died in the accident, and her seventeen-year-old sister Ashley Wright was still in a
Birmingham hospital with injuries at the time of the report. According to Fox 17, students of
Talladega High School came together for a teary gathering Thursday morning in honor of the teenagers in the wreck, and counselors were made available for the students who needed help coping with the tragedy. Our law firm handles
fatal accident cases, and we have worked with clients as they have experienced the indescribable trauma of losing loved ones in crashes. We express our deepest sympathies to the families of these teenagers, and our thoughts are with you at this very difficult time.
