Friday Morning I-85 Accident Leads to Second Wreck in Coweta Area

According to the Times-Herald, county traffic officials say that a Coweta car accident on I-85 Friday morning (August 12, 2008) may have occurred as a result of a traffic jam from an earlier wreck. Just two miles north of Exit 51 on I-85 South, Christina Lee, 37, was involved in the first accident when she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a barrier wall. In the following accident, the driver of a box truck veered off the road in an attempt to avoid colliding into the stopped traffic ahead, briefly shutting down Interstate 85's southbound lanes near the area. The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.
