Testimonials

  • I don’t have any medical bills, I’m receiving revenue for my pain and suffering, and I’m very appreciative. I am truly satisfied with the results of my case.
  • "The best part about having James Murphy as my workers' compensationlawyer is that I have someone to speak for me..."
  • The initial phone call made me feel as though they really cared. They made us feel like a number, and Murphy & Associates didn't. My wife and I have never gone through something like this before and accidents can be devastating to a family because of loss of income, pain and suffering.
  • Murphy & Associates made my experience fast and easy, and got the job done.
  • Murphy & Associates Car Accident Law firm is professional, efficient, and a pleasant experience doing business with.
  • I was involved in a rear-end collision while stopped at a red light. Mr. Murphy and his staff guided me through this long process from obtaining medical treatment to settling with the other party's insurance company.

GA Insurance Comissioner Concerned About Changes in Insurance

The Georgia Insurance Commissioner critiques an insurance change this year, claiming that a new law offering increased coverage will result in many people paying higher car insurance premiums than they intend to pay.  In short, the law gives insured car accident victims who are not at-fault the option of receiving their own full coverage along with the minimum coverage of the at-fault driver.  In the past, the minimum coverage could not be added to the amount  allotted by the insurance company offering the maximum coverage.  While the Georgia Insurance Commissioner supports this change in general, agreeing that more coverage is a good thing, he fears that many consumers will receive such coverage by accident and end up spending more on insurance than they wish to pay.  The way the law is written, consumers have to send a form back to their insurance companies to “opt out” of the enhanced coverage, meaning if they forget to mail the form or misunderstand what to do, they will be automatically signed up for  the extra coverage.  The Commissioner views this automatic “opt in” as the government’s way of forcing the new plan on consumers, leaving some of them “stuck” with something they never chose in the first place.

If you have been injured in a car accident and have questions about your insurance, the at-fault driver's insurance, or standard protocol following an accident, please feel free to call us at 770-577-3020.  We will answer your questions for free.
