The driver of a pickup truck caused an accident in Chatham County that injured a sheriff, according to the WTOC website based in Savannah, Georgia. The Garden City area collision occurred around 7:45 a.m. when deputy sheriff David Wilcox was traveling on Old Louisville Road on his way to work. According to reports, a pickup truck failed to yield while navigating a turn onto Sharon Park Drive and caused the police cruiser to hit the truck. Wilcox, along with three people from the truck, sustained injuries in the car accident and received transportation to the hospital for treatment. WTOC reports that charges have been filed against the pickup truck driver.
Although the sheriff's cruiser struck the pickup, in this case, the accident was the fault of the truck driver for failing to yield while turning.
