
Monday afternoon (December 1) turned fatal on a snow and sleet-covered road in Blue Ridge, Georgia, when 33-year-old Georgia police chief Clay Adams was killed in a car accident, according to the WSBTV website. According to the report, Adams and a passenger were headed north on 515 in Blue Ridge when his vehicle was struck head-on by a Ford F250 truck that crossed the center line while heading southbound on the roadway shortly before noon. Blue Ridge police say that the city of Nelson police chief (Adams) was ejected from his vehicle after it overturned. Adams’ passenger and the driver of the F250 are were listed in critical condition at the time of the report. A third car was also involved in the tragic car wreck, and the driver was taken to Atlanta Medical Center. According to officials, it was snowing at the time of the crash, and they are still investigating the accident. The city of Nelson’s statement Monday said that "Chief Adams will be greatly missed by all."
