On January 16, 2010, a Georgia resident was involved in a fatal auto accident on Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Juan Velazquez-Molina, twenty six years of age, resident of Americus, Georgia, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Romelio Martinez Lopez, twenty two years of age, also a resident of Americus, Georgia. They were traveling southbound in the center lane on Interstate 75 behind another vehicle. Coswell Depeiza, sixty years of age, resident of Gainesville, Florida, was rear-ended by Mr. Lopez. The impact of the accident caused Mr. Lopez’s vehicle to veer to the left and hit the median guardrail. Mr. Lopez and Mr. Velazquez-Molina both were ejected from the vehicle including another passenger that was in Mr. Lopez’s vehicle.

Mr. Velazquez-Molina passed away from the injuries sustained in the car accident. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Mr. Morales and the other passenger received minor injuries. Mr. Depeiza was not injured and neither was his passenger.
