On Sunday, July 3th, a 17-year old woman went into labor after being injured in a hit and run car accident. The accident occurred near the intersection of Moreland Avenue and McDonough Boulevard in Atlanta, Georgia. According to local police, the victim’s sister indicated that the victim was looking both ways before crossing the street and was almost safely on the sidewalk when a vehicle struck her. The teenager was nine months pregnant at the time of the accident.

The teenager was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with a broken hip. The emergency personnel had to do an emergency C-section and the teenager and baby survived with no life threatening injuries.

The police officials are still investigating said hit and run accident.
