Hit-and-Run Accident Causes Woman's Death and Leaves Man Injured

A woman was killed late Friday, September 5, after a hit-and-run accident near the town of Unionville, located near Macon, Georgia.  A man also was also seriously injured. The police in Macon are still investigating the incident, according to Ashley Tusan Joyner of the Macon Telegraph. The incident occurred in the 1400 block of Berkner Avenue about 9p.m. Friday night.
The woman and man were both  transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia, where the woman died. The injured man was last known to be in critical condition.  According to police, the injured parties were probably members of the neighborhood. Their names were not immediately available.  There were as many as forty people outside of their homes in the vicinity where the incident occured. It was further reported that a Macon police officer fired at the car that refused to stop.  The vehicle fled the scene, and no arrests have been made yet.
