A 17 year-old that goes to high school in Gwinnett County and is a two-time state wrestling champion was hit Sunday morning while he was walking home from his girlfriend's house. The driver who hit him left the scene.

The incident left the teenager seriously injured, and was put into a drug-induced coma to have surgery Sunday evening. On Monday, the teen tried to open his eyes, but had difficulty. However, when his coach came to visit, the teen gave his coach a thumbs up to verify that he understood what the coach was saying. The teen is still in critical condition.

The family is hoping that someone has more information on the hit-and-run driver.
