According to The Sun News, I-75 experienced multiple hour-long delays in its southbound lanes near the Houston-Peach county line when a tractor-trailer caught fire early Thursday morning (October 2). The Georgia State Patrol in Perry, Georgia, reported that the tractor-trailer was hauling chickens at the time of the crash, which occurred around 3:00a.m. According to authorities, grease from the melted chicken fat created a road hazard, and work crews had to clear the unusual debris along with the burned-out truck. Although the cause of the accident is still under investigation, the Perry State Patrol post reported that the truck may have caught fire after it was side-swiped by another vehicle on I-75.
