Interest in vanpools rising due to high gas prices.

March 21, 2008 - Several Douglas County commuting programs are increasing in popularity due to rising gas prices. There has been a huge increase in the interest in Rideshare programs such as the XPress buses from commuters about vanpools. Four new van routes are being added due to interest from commuters traveling back and forth to Emory University and The VA Medical Center.

A huge potential benefit to these commuter programs is fewer cars on the road during rush hour, allowing far less traffic and, of course, fewer car accidents.
