According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Attorney General offices for Delaware and Maryland have joined together to stop companies from letting smart phone users have access to applications that let you know where checkpoints are for drunken driving, speed traps and red light cameras. They have mailed letters to Google and Apple asking them to ban the applications that can be downloaded onto the iPhone and Android phones.

The same thing happened earlier this month when four other U.S. senators wrote a letter. The maker of Blackberry phones was prompted by it, and decided to remove a similar application that was available through their online store.
