Lula, Georgia, Resident Killed in Accident with DUI Driver

Rachel Reece, 19, of Lula, Georgia, was killed after an accident Wednesday night (October 8) involving a DUI driver. Driver Timmy Mills of Baldwin, 40, was charged with DUI (Driving Under the Influence) after striking Reece’s vehicle at the intersection of Old Cornelia Highway and Mud Creek Road, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Reece was turning left around 9:00p.m. from Mud Creek Road when Mills’ vehicle struck hers on Old Cornelia Highway, forcing her car off the roadway into a tree. Mills and a passenger from Reece’s car were both taken to Gainesville’s Northeast Georgia Medical Center with injuries, according to the Access North Georgia website.
