The town of Malbis, Alabama reported a fatal accident involving two vehicles that occurred early this morning on Interstate 10, as posted on the Baldwin County Now website. The crash occurred between the Malbis and Loxley exits and may have resulted from speed and alcohol, and an Orange Beach man faces murder charges due to the wreck. According to the site, 36-year-old Orange Beach resident Jonathan W. Cook rear-ended a 1996 Ford Explorer with his 2002 Toyota 4Runner, killing an occupant of the Explorer. Upon impact, the Explorer flipped multiple times and ejected back seat Explorer passenger Yvonne Carlo Arnold, 47, who is the sister of driver Gary Arnold, 56. Although Yvonne Arnold was not wearing a seatbelt, Jonathan Cook was taken to jail and booked on murder charges. Yvonne Arnold's fiance, Explorer passenger Cedric Sampson, sustained injuries in the crash along with Gary Arnold. The two were taken to Mobile's University of South Alabama Medical Center for treatment.
