Minutes Into New Year, Whitfield County Crash Kills One in Dalton

Soon after the new year began, a Dalton area car accident killed 26-year-old Justin Terry, according to the WRCBTV and News Channel 9 (of Tennessee) websites. According to the reports, the Whitfield County crash occurred approximately eight minutes after midnight on New Year's Day when Terry appeared to lose control of his vehicle when over-correcting while traveling east on Houston Valley Road. His car then left the roadway, slammed into two trees, and flipped. Though the Georgia State Patrol was still investigating the accident at the time of the report, a dispatcher from the Patrol said that alcohol may have been a factor in the fatal accident.
