Missing Macon Man Apparantly Found in Florida

A medical examiner  is expected to confirm whether a man found in a car wreck off of Interstate 75 near Naples, Fla., is Jimmy Spell, a  Warner Robins man missing since July 24. The body was discovered in Spell's Ford Mustang after a passing driver notified the Florida Highway Patrol.
Mr. Spell had left a family vacation in Florida on July 24th and was supposed to be in attendance for a birthday party and family reunion in Georgia but never arrived.  According to investigators, Mr.Spell was characterized as an upstanding citizen with no criminal record.
Authorities informed Kerrie Daniel, one of his daughters, that they believe the man found along the highway is her father as his driver's license was found.  However, dental identification would be required for confirmation.
Although overwhelmed by grief, Ms. Daniel said she was glad to know what had happened.  It was reported that the vehicle  apparently went off onto the shoulder of the road and traveled into the woods, Daniel said.
"I'd rather have closure than not know anything at all," she said. While authorities couldn't speak for the medical examiner, Daniel said she was told it's possible her father may have wrecked after a medically-related incident. This assumption is based on there being no skid marks and that her father had a history of high blood pressure and was a diabetic, Daniel said. Authorities told Ms. Daniel that it appeared her father's foot may have come off the accelerator at some point with the car traveling off the road and into the woods crashing into trees.
