What to do after you've been in a car accident in Georgia? and what NOT to do!

April 8, 2008 - Over the years of representing clients who are seriously injured in a car accident, I have seen certain mistakes repeated over and over again. I have written a short booklet which describes some of these mistakes and how to avoid them. Here is an excerpt from the booklet:
Mistake #1: Not Taking Good Photographs.
Perhaps the biggest mistake you can make after an auto accident is not taking good photos of the damage to the cars or your injuries. Property damage estimates are good to know but there is no substitute for good pictures of the damage to the vehicles involved in a wreck. Our experience with juries tells us that the jury wants to see if you have actual damage to your vehicle before they will believe someone is really hurt. Please take good pictures and lots of them.
Lets face it:  most injuries heal over time. Your injuries are most serious shortly after an accident. The best way to preserve the seriousness of your injuries is through good photographs.
