Most dangerous roads in Douglas County.

March 26, 2008 - Recently, Douglas County Board of Commissioners gave approval of a project introduced by the Douglas County Department of Transportation to alleviate traffic problems caused by highway curves in Douglas County. The Board of Commissioners selected Gresham Smith Partners firm to administer the project. Douglas County DOT Director Randy Hulsey indicated that the project would study 35 of the most dangerous curves on highways in Douglas County. The county identified these areas as the most dangerous curves on the roadways in Douglas County:

Riley Road, east of North County Line Road;

North County Line Road, east of Groovers Lake Road;

Mann Road, west of Brewer Road;

Riley Road, west of Mckown Road;

Old Lee Road, west of Lee Road;

Cedar Mountain Road, west of Dorris Road;

Huey Road, at Industrial Access Road;

Dorsett Shoals Road, west of Yancey Road;

Stewart Mill Road, east of Reynolds Road;

Mason Creek Road, south of Cowan Mill Road;

Bright Star Road, south of Douglas Boulevard;

North Burnt Hickory Road, north of Gresham Road;
