Mother and Child Killed in Truck Accident in Jefferson County, Alabama

A western Jefferson County traffic accident resulted in fatality Friday, December 15, when a woman, 35, and her son, age 7, were involved in a collision with a coal truck, according to Erin Stock of The Birmingham News website.  Stock reports that Cynthia Arnold and the 7-year-old died after her vehicle crossed the center line of Lock 17 Road and crashed with the truck. Arnold's two other children in the car, ages 4 and 5, sustained injuries in the crash and were taken to Children's Hospital in Birmingham for treatment, while the driver of the coal truck, who was also injured in the accident, went to UAB Hospital.   We express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Cynthia Arnold and her children.  Our thoughts are with you at this most difficult time.
