A Franklin County, Alabama, motorcycle accident resulted in fatality for a 46-year-old man and serious injury for his 43-year-old wife Sunday afternoon, according to Tom Smith of the Times Daily online. Smith reports that Samuel Yrus Odom was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle and a 2001 Oldsmobile collided around 12:05 p.m. on Alabama 24, and his wife, Michelle Odom, was taken by helicopter a Huntsville medical facility, where she was listed in critical condition. According to the report, the westbound car was attempting a left turn from Alabama 24 onto Franklin 424 when the motorcycle, which was traveling east on Alabama 24, crashed with the car. The driver of the Oldsmobile, 22-year-old Sabrina James of Russellville, did not report any injuries at the time of the collision. In the crash, Samuel and Michelle Odom were ejected from the motorcycle, with Samuel being thrown between 10 and 15 feet from the point of impact and Michelle more than 30 yards.
We represent clients who have sustained serious injuries or lost loved ones in motorcycle accidents, and we express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the Odoms. We hope for the full and fast recovery of Michelle, and our thoughts and sympathies are with you at this difficult time.
