Douglas County’s Director of Communication/Community Relations, Wes Tallon reported multiple injuries due to car accidents throughout the night in Douglas County. The winter storm that brought snow and ice with the below freezing temperatures was to blame. The Georgia Department of Transportation has been out all night prepping the roads in an attempt to prevent the interstates from freezing. Mr Tallon said the Douglas County Department of Transportation closed Richardson Road in Winston late last night. Douglas county schools were closed for the day as well due to the icy conditions.
