According to WSB, forty seven year old Richar Jernigan was the cause of nine vehicle accidents in less than a one half mile radius on Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Just before 5:00 p.m. Mr. Jernigan drove his work truck the wrong way along Buford-Spring Connector. One particular accident out of the 9 left a woman in serious condition and she was taken to Atlanta Medical Center. Georgia State Patrol Lt. Paul Cosper was quoted telling WSB "after the crash, the suspect jumped out of his vehicle and over the wall and went into a wooded area where the citizens involved, or winesses, pursued him subdued him until police arrived to place him under arrest." The many charges Jernigan faces includes, reckless driving, hit and run, DUI, and leaving the scene of an accident along with driving on the wrong side of the road.
