One Dies in Fiery DeKalb County Accident with Truck on I-675 near Atlanta’s I-285

An Atlanta accident on I-675 turned deadly this morning (Thursday, October 30) when a minivan, two other vehicles, and a truck collided in a fiery crash during rush hour. According to Mike Morris of the Atlanta Journal-Consitution, the accident occurred on Interstate 675 between I-285 and Anvil Block Road in DeKalb County at approximately 7:40 a.m. and resulted in fire in Atlanta. According to Mekka Parish, DeKalb police spokeswoman, investigators suspect that two vehicles collided (one of which was a minivan) and struck a box truck after crossing the median. Another vehicle is also believed to have been involved in the crash. One person was killed and three others sustained moderate injuries as a result of the wreck, but their names have not yet been released. All southbound lanes of I-675 in the area were closed until around 1:00 p.m.
