One Killed, One Injured in Ferrari Accident Near Lilburn
The driver of a yellow Ferrari was killed and his pasenger seriously injured in a Lilburn area car accident Thursday evening, January 1, according to the 11 Alive news website. As reported by Gwinnett County police, Auburn resident Russell E. Hays, 32, died after the vehicle he was driving veered off the roadway in a curve, crashed into a culvert, and flipped. The owner of the Ferrari and passenger in the accident, Lilburn resident Todd Willoughby, 36, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for severe burns. Police say that both men were ejected from the car during the crash, with Hays being partially trapped underneath the vehicle as it burst into flames.
