On Friday, June 11, 2010, two teenagers were struck by a vehicle in Carrollton, Georgia. According to the Georgia State Patrol, the teenagers were walking along Holly Drive in Carrollton when they were struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a thirty eight year old, was traveling southbound when he crossed over the northbound lane.
Both teenagers were transported to Atlanta Medical Center for medical treatment. One teenager passed away from injuries sustained in the accident. The other teenager has since been released.

The thirty eight year old male was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road, leaving the scene of the accident, endangerment to a child, serious injury by a vehicle and driving without a license. On Friday, March 19, 2010, a pedestrian hit and run accident occurred on Jonesboro Road in Forest Park, Georgia. According to the Forest Park Police Department, Carol Floyd, 60 years of age, was crossing Jonesboro Road in the pedestrian crosswalk when she was struck by an SUV. At the time of the accident, a Forest Park Police Officer was coming up on the intersection and caught the accident on the dash cam. According to the video of the pedestrian accident, it shows the SUV striking Ms. Floyd, sending her into the air and onto the pavement. Also, shown on the video was the driver of the SUV who stopped after striking Ms. Floyd apologized and then left the scene of the accident.

On February 21, 2010, a Georgia resident was involved in a hit and run accident in Okaloosa County, Florida. According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Clarence Brasfield, 73 years of age, resident of Georgia, was the victim in the accident.
Vicky Ann Metrejean, resident of Niceville, Florida, has been charged with hitting Mr. Brasfield and leaving the scene of the accident. According to the sheriff’s office, Ms. Metrejean failed to stop after hitting Mr. Brasfield on John Sims Parkway.
Mr. Clarence Brasfield was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital from injuries sustained in the accident. He was listed in critical but stable condition.
Afterwards, a deputy at the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, received a telephone call stating a woman was passed out behind the wheel of an SUV. The SUV was at the gate of Destiny West Subdivision. The damage to the front of the vehicle was consistent with the hit and run accident. A black glove was found in the vehicle that matched the same glove found at the scene of the accident.
According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, additional charges are pending against Ms. Metrejean.
