
A pedestrian was killed on I-75 in Kentucky Tuesday evening (July 29) when he was hit and run over by three separate vehicles while trying to flag down help for his flat tire. According to reports, 24-year-old Jerry D. Whitaker II pulled his vehicle into the emergency lane upon realization of a flat tire and stepped into the roadway near the center lane to wave for help. The first vehicle that hit him was a passenger car which knocked him down on the highway around 11:00pm. Whitaker was then struck by a UPS truck and an SUV that was pulling a camper. Police our searching for the driver of the SUV that failed to stop after the deadly accident. Though Jerry Whitaker was taken to Saint Joseph Hospital in Berea, Kentucky, he was pronounced dead shortly before 12:30am.
