Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Daphne, Alabama

Daphne, Alabama, experienced tragedy early this month when winter visitor and Wisconsin resident Arden Albright, 81, was killed in a vehicle-pedestrian accident, according to Katie Miller of the Baldwin County NOW website.  The January 5 crash occurred around 7:00 p.m. when Albright attempted to cross Highway 182 and was struck by the 2007 Nissan Altima of Fairhope resident Herbert Kandel.  Orange Beach Assistant Chief Greg Duck stated that Kandel could not have avoided the accident, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.  According to Duck, driver Kandel was not speeding at the time of the accident.
