Post Road Bridge to Reopen Next Week

June 24, 2008 - Douglas County Department of Transportation (DOT) began paving the damaged part of Post Road Bridge over Dog River in Douglasville, GA, today. As DOT crews scraped asphalt and cleaned the site yesterday to prepare the bridge for reopening, it was determined that the bridge would open next week as long as weather permits. The bridge has been closed since May 31 when a deputy discovered a two-foot hole in one of the traffic lanes. Highway 5 has been one of the routes used as a detour for Post Road traffic.
